Welcome,
My name is Jordan Addison. I am a professional piano player born
in the small mountain town of Boone, North Carolina. I am very
fortunate to have grown up in a loving and caring home with my
supportive parents; Duane and Genelle, and sister Lindsay. I
have been surrounded by music my entire life and was inspired to
play piano at an early age by both of my grandmothers, Iris
Addison and Nita Blackley, who played by ear. A favorite holiday
tradition of ours is to have the entire family gather around the
piano and make wonderful music together.
I am trained in classical music, and owe a debt of gratitude to
my three teachers and mentors; Faye Ayers, Diane Rydell, and Dr.
Rodney Reynerson. I performed at weddings, receptions, concerts,
churches, and fine dining events to earn my way through college.
I received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from
Appalachian State University, located in Boone, NC.
One of my greatest experiences was performing at the Farm House
Inn in Blowing Rock, N.C. The historic restaurant and inn, known
as the “Broadway of the South”, produced multiples of talented
musicians who furthered their careers in music. My father and
Aunt Diane Rydell performed there in the late 60s. Diane later
moved to New York and was cast many roles on Broadway. She met
her husband, Stephen Rydell, who starred in many roles as well.
They now own the most complete and well-known music store in
Boone. It is a dream come true to be a second generation
performer.
I currently work for Carnival Cruise Lines, where I perform,
travel, and meet thousands of interesting people along the way.
My latest challenge is recording a CD, and learning about the
perfection it takes. You not only have to be able to perform,
but market yourself. Eventually I will have many varieties of
CD’s for your entertainment including: Old Broadway, Big Band
Era, A Christmas Albums and many more to come. Thank you for
reading about me, and I hope you enjoy my website!
